John Kasten
Technically, John is not on the staff, but he is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor whose counseling practice has been located at Bangor Baptist Church since 1999. He sees individuals and couples who want assistance in applying God’s word to their personal and relational challenges.

John is originally from Maryland. He has a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in psychology, as well as a Master’s in Public Health and a substantial number of Bible college hours. Occupational experiences include various inpatient and outpatient settings and practice as a Christian counselor since 1981. Also ordained as a Minister of the Gospel, John has served several churches as Associate Pastor or Pastor and taught in various settings, including a current position with Grace Evangelical Center for Undergraduate Studies & Seminary. An additional outreach to the community is his weekly radio ministry broadcast, "Renewing The Mind," on WHCF, FM 88.5. This program airs from 12:15 to 12:45 PM every Monday.

John and his wife Marjorie have been happily married since 1970 and live here in Bangor.
